Would students feel open to commenting?

Blogging...eh? Interesting. Be patient....it's my first time ;)

Seriously, though, it certainly is another method to gain comments/feedback from students. Could we pose a weekly question during a course and then let the students give their thoughts on it? Would they be open to it? Have people found blogging effective in teaching? How could we evaluate its effectiveness?

I have so much to learn about this......

Great blog! Look at how we are using this blog - as a training programme. We could easily modify it to cover any sort of material! I like the idea of posing a question and seeing the responses. Like any new teaching technique you never know until you try it!

  2. Hi Newfie Girl,

I also like the idea of posting a question/week. Perhaps after a few weeks you might use another strategy - turn it over to a student(s) to post a question or a case study for peers to respond to.

What kind of bird is that on your profile?

  3. Hi Sue,

It is a woodpecker in our backyard. The picture was taken in April. It has a flying ant in its beak - really cool!!

I love the idea of turning it over to the students to pose questions as well! Thanks for the input!
